The most listed used cars in Sri Lanka right now are: #1 Suzuki Wagon R (avg Rs. 6.9M), #2 Honda Vezel (avg Rs. 15.6M), #3 Suzuki Alto (avg Rs. 4.2M), #4 Toyota Vitz (avg Rs. 6.8M), and #5 Toyota Raize (avg Rs. 13.5M) — based on live data from PriceMart.lk's leaderboard as of September 2026.

Listing volume is the clearest signal of what Sri Lankan buyers actually want — and what sellers are most motivated to move. It's also a leaderboard that moves: since this article was first published, four models have dropped out of the top 10 entirely and been replaced by a Rs. 35M+ luxury SUV, a barely-used compact crossover, and two Suzuki nameplates that weren't previously in the picture. Here's what the current top 10 looks like and what it means for buyers.

What Do the Rankings Tell You?

The Top 5 Now Span Budget to Premium

Back in June, every model in the top 5 sat under Rs. 5M average, and the ranking read as a clean signal of budget-conscious demand. That's no longer the picture. The current top 5 runs from the Suzuki Alto at Rs. 4.2M all the way to the Honda Vezel at Rs. 15.6M and the Toyota Raize at Rs. 13.5M — two mid-to-premium crossovers now sit alongside the traditional budget hatchbacks at the very top of the leaderboard. Read alongside the current import tax structure, this tracks with a market where new-car pricing has been pushed so high that buyer demand — not just supply — has broadened across the used segment rather than staying concentrated at the entry level.

Sell Rate Is More Useful Than Listing Count

The Toyota Vitz now has the highest sell rate in the top 10 at 37.5%, with the Suzuki Every close behind at 36.6% — both comfortably ahead of the pack. That means listed Vitz and Every units clear the fastest of any high-volume model right now. If you find a well-priced, well-documented unit of either, don't sit on it.

At the other end, the Toyota Raize's 15.8% sell rate is the lowest of the top 10 despite sitting at #5 by volume — and its average year-of-manufacture skews to 2025 with very low average mileage, which points to a large pool of near-new imports still being shopped rather than snapped up. Buyers get more room to negotiate here; sellers should expect a longer runway to a sale.

New Entrants: Raize, Every, Prado, and Swift

Four models — Honda Fit, Toyota Prius, Nissan Leaf, and Honda Grace — have slipped out of the top 10 by listing volume since June, even though each remains an actively traded nameplate on the platform. In their place: the Toyota Raize (#5), Suzuki Every (#8), Toyota Prado (#9), and Suzuki Swift (#10).

The Prado's appearance is the most striking of the four. A Rs. 36M-average luxury 4x4 landing in a "most listed" leaderboard dominated by hatchbacks and compact crossovers is unusual, and it lines up with what Sri Lanka's current tax-driven affordability squeeze would predict: at the taxes new large-engine imports now carry, buyer demand for this class is being pushed almost entirely into the used market, deepening the pool of used Prado listings even as new units stay scarce. The Raize, by contrast, shows a very low average mileage and a 2025-skewed average year-of-manufacture — a sign of a large recent-import cohort still working through the sales pipeline rather than an ageing, well-picked-over pool.

Battery Health Note — Toyota Aqua

The Aqua is the only hybrid in the current top 10, and Sri Lanka's tropical climate accelerates hybrid battery ageing faster than temperate markets. Before buying, check the State of Health (SoH) via an OBD-II scan (Toyota Techstream) — treat anything below 75% on a sub-5-year car as a red flag — and confirm real-world fuel economy is within 20% of the JC08/WLTC claim. A refurbished Aqua hybrid battery typically costs Rs. 300,000–550,000 in Sri Lanka, so a degraded pack materially changes the value case. See our Aqua chassis guide for generation-specific battery notes.

How to Use This Data as a Buyer

High-volume models give you negotiating leverage. The Suzuki Wagon R, Honda Vezel, and Suzuki Alto currently carry the deepest inventories of any models tracked on the platform. A seller unwilling to negotiate on any of these three knows you have plenty of comparable listings to walk to — come with printed data showing them.

Lower-volume models require faster decisions. Nameplates that have dropped outside the top 10 — the Honda Grace and Toyota Prius among them — now carry meaningfully thinner supply than the current leaders. If the Grace dashboard shows a green-coded listing at a fair price, act the same day rather than waiting for a better one to appear.

Sell rate predicts your own resale ease. If you're buying with the intention to resell in 2–3 years, the sell rate tells you how quickly you'll find a buyer. Toyota Vitz (37.5%) and Suzuki Every (36.6%) are the easiest resells in the market right now — both comfortably ahead of every SUV and premium model in the top 10.
